Types of data processed

  1. Browsing data. The computer systems and software procedures necessary for the Portal System to operate correctly record some personal data that are implicitly transmitted by the use of the Internet communication protocols and that are necessary to improve the quality of the service offered. Such information is not associated with identified users; however, in virtue of its nature, it could allow for the identification of the users. This category of data includes, for example, IP addresses or domain names of the computers used by the users to connect to the website; the URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of the resources required; the time of the request; the method used to send a request to the server; the size of the file obtained in reply; the numeric code that indicates the state of the reply given by the server; and other parameters relating to the user's operating system and data processing environment. These data are used only to obtain statistical information on the use of the website and to check its correct functioning and are removed from the systems periodically. Data could be used to ascertain liability in the case of computer crimes to the detriment of the Portal system or third parties.
  1. Data provided voluntarily by users: the personal data of students, acquired upon enrolment and registration, will be processed in order to perform the institutional activities of the University, within the limits established by the law and regulations, in compliance with the general principles of transparency, correctness and confidentiality. The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of e-mails to the addresses indicated on this portal implies the subsequent acquisition of the senders’ e-mail address used to respond to requests.
