Conseguimento del titolo di Clinical Andrologist rilasciato dalla European Academy of Andrology (EAA) a conclusione dei previsti 7 anni di training presso l’EAA center di L’Aquila (U.O.C. di Andrologia Medica dell’ospedale San Salvatore/Università degli Studi di L’Aquila).

 

Attività di ricerca clinica e di base:

Dal 2003 svolge attività di ricerca nell’ambito della fisiopatologia della riproduzione e dal 2009 si occupa di ricerca in campo andrologico ed endocrinologico nel paziente con lesione midollare. l principali campi di interesse sono rappresentati da: meccanismi molecolari dell’acquisizione nemaspermica della capacità fecondante, infertilità immunologica maschile, ruolo del sistema endocannabinoide nelle funzioni/disfunzioni nemaspermiche, metabolismo energetico dello spermatozoo umano, fisiopatologia delle anomalie seminali del mieloleso ed in corso di flogosi/infezioni delle vie seminali, disordini sessuologici e connessi alla carenza androgenica nel paziente con mielolesione, studio dei mediatori del rischio cardiovascolare in soggetti con disfunzione erettile, ruolo della diagnostica ecografica andrologica nel work-up dell’infertilità maschile.

Clinical and experimental research activities:

He is involved in research activities in the field of reproductive physiopathology since 2003 and during the last 10 years he dealt with research in the field of andrology and endocrinology of patients with spinal cord injury. The main fields of interest are the following: molecular mechanisms of the acquisition of sperm fertilizing ability, male immune infertility, the role of endocannabinoid system in the sperm functions and dysfunctions, energetic metabolism of human spermatozoa, pathophysiology of semen abnormalities in men with spinal cord injury and in patients with inflammation/infections of reproductive tract, sexual disorders and correlates of androgen deficiency in men with spinal cord injury, role of ultrasonography in the work-up of male infertility.
