Our doctoral programs provide advanced research and professional skills to highly qualified students. Many of the programs are jointly coordinated with national and international partners and all doctoral programs offer the possibility to spend time abroad for research and internships.
All candidates seeking to be accepted onto one of the PhD programs must undergo a formal selection process consisting in an oral examination or in an on line admission text for students residing abroad. TOPICS OF THE PhD PROGRAM
The PhD in History of Europe from the Middle Ages up to today intends to promote the research of the political, religious, cultural, economic and social transformations considering the national specificities and common process, which contribute to make so different and complex the current landscape of European societies.
Particular attention is paid to, both the critical research and follow up of the issues and problems of historiography tradition (institutions and structures, behavior, attitude, religion, culture etc.), and to the most recent tendencies (of world history, history in general, of trans-national history and of cultural experiences).
Furthermore, attention will be paid to issues and problems concerning the research of regional dimensions of European history both from in macro-areas relationship point of view (for example between the Mediterranean Europe and the Balkan Europe and between the Mediterranean Europe and the central Europe) and comparing singular regional territories, within different contexts.
This, in order to analyze problems connected to the history of European regions, considered as complex laboratories of political, social, economic and cultural integration that have involved in the over the centuries institutional powers, religious faiths, cultures etc.
The vocation of PhD in European History is to train researchers able to interact with an international European field.
The research, therefore, aims to supply the students to a high level scientific training and have an opportunity of exchanging point of views and contacts with other professors, universities and international research centers.
The PhD students will be motivated not only by the choice of the research issues in line with the main themes of the international historiography but also by studying languages.
It will also be offered to PhD students the possibility to take part in national and international projects, in order to grant them further training experiences.
In the same way the research aims to give data and documents techniques and the application of information Technology of Historical Sciences.

TOPICS OF THE PhD PROGRAM
Operating within a qualified international research network and relying on modern and innovative scientific equipment, the course is aimed at providing a thorough and updated knowledge of the molecular and functional features of cells for the translational transfer of the use of cells and cell products (i.e. microvesicles, recombinant proteins, bioactives lipids, ecc.) to biomedical field applications. The research activity will be mainly addressed to the following models:
1. mammals gametes and embryos for the study of biology of reproduction and the improvement of assisted reproduction technologies;
2. fetal, adult and cancer stem cells for the study of cell differentiation and the development of innovative strategies in regenerative medicine,
3.cellular models for the study of (neuro)-inflammatory, neurodegenerative and cancer pathologies and the development of biodrugs and models for the evaluation of the bioavailability of natural and synthetic materials,
4.in vitro and in vivo models for monitoring the nutraceutical and nutrigenomic effects of food, nutrients, trace elements and xenobiotics and for the development of nutraceutical and novel foods
5. eukaryotic/prokaryotic for recombinant proteins production
Definition of computational and systems biology predictive models and structural and computational analysis aimed to drug design will also be preferential objects of the course.

TOPICS OF THE PhD PROGRAM
The PhD is intended to cover the whole range of different aspects related to research and innovation in the food chain, with a multidisciplinary approach. The research activity is carried out by a highly professional team of researchers with international experience. PhD students will work on projects aimed at the rationalization of the management of production processes with traditional and innovative techniques, at the improvement of all the aspects of the quality of food, at the development innovative approach to control food safety, at the characterization valorization and traceability of traditional foods.
