The University of Teramo has decided to adopt a digital certification system based on Open Badges from the Bestr platform, a tool that can institutionally record the transversal skills acquired by students during their university career.

:: What is an Open Badge?

An Open Badge is a digital image containing metadata regarding a specific acquired skill. Internationally recognized, it allows students to showcase extracurricular activities or study at the University of Teramo.

It is a secure, personal certification tool that is easily used on social media and verifiable in real time by the platforms that manage its standards. It can be used, for example, in electronic CVs or posted on your LinkedIn profile to communicate the skills you've learned.

:: What Open Badges are available at the University of Teramo?

The University of Teramo's Open Badges can be viewed at https://bestr.it/organization/show/160

Some examples:

  • Certifications earned at the University Language Center;
  • Seminars on transversal skills (e.g., Kraino);
  • Course on workplace health and safety.

Furthermore, Open Badges are awarded upon completion of a master's or single-cycle master's degree and are added to the standard degree certificate.

:: The importance of Open Badges

  • They complement the personal electronic CV;
  • They are internationally recognized;
  • They can be shared and disseminated via social networks (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and websites;
  • They increase the visibility of those who consider them useful for recruitment purposes.

:: Obtaining an Open Badge

Open Badges are automatically issued upon completion of the relevant training program. Interested students will receive a communication via their institutional email address with a link to collect their assigned Open Badge online. To obtain the badge, you must register on the BESTR portal.

Once the registration process is complete, we recommend linking the email address linked to your digital identity immediately so that your SPID can be linked to the Open Badge and you can access it even after completing your studies.
