Curriculum accademico

È referee delle riviste "IEEE Transaction on Information Theory", "IEEE Transaction on Computers", "Design, Codes and Cryptography", "Discrete Applied Mathematics", e di vari convegni nazionali ed internazionali.

He received the Laurea in Mathematics "Magna cum Laude" from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1991, the MS and PhD degrees in Computer Science from Oregon State University, USA, in 1994 and 1996 respectively. From June 1998 to December 2002 he has been an Assistant Professor of Geometry at the Milan Polytechnic. From January 2002 he is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Teramo. His research interests include Coding Theory, Information Theory, Combinatorics, Discrete Mathematics, the Theory and efficient design of VLSI systems, of Communication systems, of Low Power consumption systems and of Asynchronous systems. He is Author of 80 publications on conference proceedings, volumes and journals of national and international level. He has served as referee for the journals "IEEE Transaction on Information Theory", "IEEE Transaction on Computers", "Design, Codes and Cryptography", "Discrete Applied Mathematics", and for various national and international conferences. From January 1992 to May 1998 he has been a fellowship holder of the italian National Research Council: at the Department of Computer Science of Oregon State University until May 1997, and at the "Dipartimento di Informatica ed Applicazioni" of the University of Salerno afterwards. From March 1995 he has been Consultant for various US National Science Foundation grants on Coding Theory. He has got 11 italian and US prize fellowships and 2 awards. He is Author of the journal article "Efficient m-ary balanced codes", "Discrete Applied Mathematics", vol. 92, n. 1, pp. 17-56, March 1999, which has been included in the volume "Discrete Applied Mathematics Editors' Choice - 1999 Edition". Such volume contains the best results published by the journal Discrete Applied Mathematics in the year 1999. Ever since he has been Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Communication Sciences he has addressed the pioneering problem of properly defining the computer courses offered by the Faculty of Communication Science.
