Anno Scolastico 1982-1983: diploma di maturità Classica presso il Liceo Classico Statale “Giovanni Prati” di Trento.

1994 - Laurea con voti 110/110 e Lode in Medicina Veterinaria, Facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria dell’Università degli Studi di Bologna discutendo una tesi sperimentale in “Zootecnica Speciale” dal titolo: “Effetti dell'integrazione della dieta con Virginiamicina sulle prestazioni riproduttive di scrofe di secondo parto” (Relatore Prof. Pier Giorgio Monetti).

01/11/1994 - 08/05/1998 – Dottorato di Ricerca in “Produzioni Foraggere e Zootecniche in Zone Collinari e Montane”, sede amministrativa Università degli Studi di Ancona, sede consorziata Università di Bologna. L’ 8/5/1998 consegue il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca discutendo la tesi “Creep feeding e flushing: due tipi di interventi alimentari nella linea vacca - vitello” (Relatore Paolo Parisini – Coordinatore Adalberto Falaschini).

26 Febbraio 1999 – Vincitore concorso di un posto da Ricercatore Universitario – Gruppo disciplinare G09C - presso la Facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria dell’Università degli Studi di Teramo.

01/04/1999 - 01/10/2001 – in servizio presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Veterinarie e Agroalimentari della Facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria dell'Università degli Studi di Teramo, in qualità di Ricercatore Universitario nel settore scientifico disciplinare G09C - AGR/19 – Zootecnica speciale.

19 luglio 2001, vinto un Concorso da Professore di ruolo di II fascia per il settore scientifico disciplinare G09C - AGR/19 – Zootecnica speciale, la Facoltà di Medicina Veterinaria dell'Università degli studi di Teramo delibera la chiamata a ricoprire il posto di Professore di ruolo di II fascia per il settore scientifico disciplinare G09C - AGR/19 – Zootecnica speciale, presso la Facoltà medesima. Presa di servizio nel ruolo di Professore associato il 1/10/2001 presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Veterinarie e Agroalimentari dell’Università di Teramo.

Dal 01/10/2001 ad oggi presta servizio presso la Facoltà (oggi Dipartimento) di Medicina Veterinaria dell'Università degli Studi di Teramo, in qualità di Professore Associato per il settore AGR/19 Zootecnica speciale.

Il 27/09/2022 ha conseguito l’Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale alle funzioni di professore universitario di Prima Fascia nel Settore Concorsuale 07/G1 - SCIENZE E TECNOLOGIE ANIMALI

INSTRUCTION, POST-GRADUATE EDUCATION, AND APPOINTMENT IN ROLE

 

Academic Year 1982-1983: High school diploma in Classical Studies at the "Giovanni Prati" State Classical High School in Trento.

 

1994 - Graduation with honors (110/110) in Veterinary Medicine from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bologna. The thesis was titled "Effects of the diet supplementation with Virginiamycin on the reproductive performance of second-parity sows" (Supervisor: Prof. Pier Giorgio Monetti).

 

November 1, 1994, to May 8, 1998 - Ph.D. in "Forage and Animal Production in Hilly and Mountainous Areas," administratively based at the University of Ancona and jointly at the University of Bologna. On May 8, 1998, obtained the Ph.D. title with a dissertation on "Creep feeding and flushing: two types of dietary interventions in the cow-calf line" (Supervisor: Paolo Parisini - Coordinator: Adalberto Falaschini).

 

February 26, 1999 - Winner of a competition for a position as a University Researcher (disciplinary group G09C) at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Teramo.

 

April 1, 1999, to October 1, 2001 - In service at the Department of Veterinary and Agri-Food Sciences of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Teramo, as a University Researcher in the scientific disciplinary sector G09C - AGR/19 - Special Animal Science.

 

July 19, 2001 - Won a competition for the role of Associate Professor (second-tier) in the scientific disciplinary sector G09C - AGR/19 - Special Animal Science at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Teramo. Assumed the role of Associate Professor on October 1, 2001, at the Department of Veterinary and Agri-Food Sciences of the University of Teramo.

 

Since October 1, 2001, has been serving at the Faculty (now Department) of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Teramo as an Associate Professor in the sector AGR/19 Special Animal Science.

 

On September 27, 2022, obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the position of Full Professor in the Concorsuale Sector 07/G1 - ANIMAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES.

Since the academic year 2000-2001, has held various teaching assignments in the Degree Programs in Veterinary Medicine (LM42), Animal Protection and Welfare (L38), Sustainable Animal Production Sciences (LM86), and Mandatory Practical Training for Veterinary Medicine Professionals at the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Teramo. Also involved in teaching Master's and Specialization Schools.

In 1996, served as a Member and Secretary of the Scientific Committee for the 16th Congress of the International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS) at the University of Bologna.

 

In 2001, became a Member of the Admission Test Commission for the Degree Program in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Teramo.

 

From 2001 to 2004, served as a Member of the Orientation Committee for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

 

From 2001 to the present, has been a Member of the Council of the Specialization School in Animal Health, Breeding, and Animal Production at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Teramo.

 

From 2001 to 2005, was involved in the educational coordination of the first-level University Master's Program in "Management of Local Parks and Natural Areas - GESLOPAN," University of Teramo.

 

From 2007 to April 2022, served as a Member of the EAEVE Committee at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

 

From 2008 to 2016, was a Member of the Council of the Specialization School in Reproductive Pathology, University of Teramo.

 

In 2009 and 2011, served as a Member of the Final Evaluation Committee for the Award of the Ph.D. in "Food Sciences, Animal Nutrition, and Food Safety," University of Bologna.

 

From 2011 to the present, has been a Member of the Examination Committee for the State Examination for the Qualification to Practice as a Veterinary Medicine Professional in the disciplines related to animal husbandry.

 

In 2012, served as a Member of the Admission Test Committee for the Degree Program in Veterinary Medicine, University of Teramo.

From 2017 to February 2022, held the position of Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Teramo.

From 2019 to November 2021, was the Coordinator of the Master's Degree Program in "Sustainable Animal Production Sciences" in Class LM86 (formally elected as President of the CdLM in November 2021).

 

From March 7, 2019, to November 9, 2019, was a Member of the Board of Directors (CdA) at the University of Teramo.

Participated in the Special Research Project "Excellence Researchers" for the year 2011, titled "Evaluation of the effect of castration and pain therapy on the weight gain and carcass characteristics of sheep destined for the production of 'castrato' meat." Coordinated by Prof. Lucio Petrizzi. From November 1, 2011, to October 31, 2013.

Coordinated the project "Development of a non-invasive approach (laser methane detector) to measure methane emissions in Mediterranean Buffaloes under different conditions" in collaboration with Prof. Mizeck Chagunda at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, as part of the "DEMETRA PROJECT: Interconnections between OneHealth medicine and sustainable animal production as priorities for sustainable development" funded under the Department of Excellence projects 2018/2022.

 

Participated in the "LIFE GreenSheep" project - Demonstration and dissemination actions to reduce the carbon footprint in European sheep farming, coordinated by Dr. Sindy Throude at the Institut de l'Elevage, France - European Project 2020-2025 (LIFE19 CCM/FR/001245).
