IDEM (IDEntity Management for federated access)

IDEM è la federazione italiana delle università e degli enti di ricerca che permette di accedere a numerosi servizi federati (ad esempio le riviste elettroniche) utilizzando le sole credenziali istituzionali e dovunque ti trovi.

IDEM aderisce anche al servizio di inter-federazione mondiale eduGAIN, il quale consente ai propri utenti di utilizzare migliaia di risorse messe a disposizione dalle federazioni di tutto il mondo. L'Università degli Studi di Teramo ha aderito alle federazioni IDEM per il tramite del Consortium GARR.

Per accedere ai servizi offerti dalle federazioni IDEM ed eduGAIN, l’Identity Provider (IdP) di UniTE potrebbe trasmettere al gestore del servizio richiesto alcune informazioni dell’utente (attributi) necessari per usufruire degli stessi.

L'insieme delle informazioni da trasmettere può variare da risorsa a risorsa, ma il nostro Identity Provider invierà solamente quelle informazioni che la risorsa richiede. In generale potrebbero essere fornite le seguenti informazioni:

• nome e cognome dell'utente;
• indirizzo e-mail;
• identificativo anonimo, persistente, non riassegnabile, dell'utente (una stringa generata automaticamente dal sistema che non contiene informazioni dell'utente);
• informazioni sull'affiliazione dell’utente presso l’organizzazione di appartenenza

IDEM is the Italian federation of universities and research entities that allows to access numerous federated services (for example electronic journals) using only institutional credentials and wherever you are.

IDEM also adheres to the worldwide inter-federation service eduGAIN, which allows its users to use thousands of resources made available by federations around the world. The University of Teramo joined the IDEM federations through the GARR Consortium.

To access the services offered by the IDEM and eduGAIN federations, the UniTE Identity Provider (IdP) could transmit to the manager of the requested service some user information (attributes) necessary to use them.

The set of information to be transmitted may vary from resource to resource, but our Identity Provider will send only that information that the resource requires. In general, the following information could be provided:

• name and surname of the user;
• email address;
• anonymous, persistent, non-reassignable user identifier (a string automatically generated by the system that does not contain user information);
• information on the user's affiliation with the organization to which he belongs
